Hi, I’m Debbie 👋
I’m the founder of This Mummy Sews, and just like many of the mums I now teach… my sewing journey actually started during maternity leave.
Before having my first baby I was a PE teacher, but when I became a mum I suddenly found myself craving something creative that was just for me.
Something that wasn’t nappies, feeds and endless washing.
So I dusted off a sewing machine and started making clothes for my little one.
At first I had no idea what I was doing… but once I learned the basics, I completely fell in love with it.
What started as a little creative escape soon grew into my handmade children’s clothing brand Lola-Pops, which I built from my kitchen table while raising my girls.
After many amazing years running that business, I sold Lola-Pops in 2025 so I could fully focus on my true passion — helping other mums discover the magic of sewing.
Through This Mummy Sews, I now inspire mums from all around the world to dust off their sewing machines (or thread one for the very first time!) and start sewing beautiful things for their little ones.
Because sewing is so much more than learning a skill.
It’s about confidence.

All the sewing tutorials will be pre-recorded to there's no pressure to turn up to the sessions live as I totally understand how unpredictable juggling a little one can be. You can access all the tutorials and sessions in your own time, even if you only watch each session in short stints. This course is completly flexible to work around you and your baby's needs.

This is no problem at all. All Q&A sessions will be recorded and will be uploaded into the course portal within 24 hours so you can complete the lesson in your own time and when it's convenient for you. There will also be a form for you to submit any questions you have for me to answer during the session if you are unable to make it live.

Yes absolutely. There are 3 LIVE Q&A sessions planned throughout the 6 week course. These sessions are there for you to come along for extra help and support if there's anything you are unsure about or you have any questions about any of the items we are creating on the course. These sessions will usually be 20-30 minutes long.

The sewing kit will contain enough fabric (approx 2-3m) to complete all 6 items that are covered on this course (pin cushion, accessory, harems, romper, t-shirt, leggings). The fabric inside the kit will be stunning high quality stretch cotton jersey in a variety of prints and colours. You will receive a form to tailor your sewing kit and you can specify of you'd like fabrics suitable for boy/girl/unisex and you can also indicate the size/age of the child you are sewing for. You will also receive 4 exclusive This Mummy Sews Patterns: Harems, Romper, T-shirt and Leggings in digital PDF format to print at home and A0 printed patterns that you can start to use straight away. The sewing kit alone has a RRP of £75+

The patterns included in the course cover multiple sizes, so you can create outfits your little one will wear now and as they grow.
All 4 patterns you will receive start from 0-3m and go all the way up to 10 years. You’ll be able to sew these amazing timeless patterns for years to come.
